![]() IMHO, as long as the wires are decently shielded (in my epi, almost all the wires are individually shielded ingeniously by using shielded single conductor cables following the ground connection between pots), replacing them won't affect tone and in fact replacing them with standard insulated stranded core wire that most people use when they redo their electronics will cause problems, especially there's no control cavity to shield in a hollowbody.Ĭhanging pots won't really affect tone, I'd do it if the pots don't feel right to turn or the taper doesn't seem right or the value of the pot doesn't seem right, but brands of pot make little difference to tone. Will changing pots and wiring actually improve the tone? That just doesn't make sense to me.
